Day 5 (Wednesday)
Cúber reservoir
7:00 am.- Breakfast
7:30 am.-Lunch´s bag share out and departure.
8:15 am.- We leave the car in the parking which is in the reservoir´s nearness. Start the tour in the reservoir´s right side. We´ll make the first stop in a thick ever´green oak grove, to watch the birds which inhabit there. In the estival time we can watch the Spotted Flycatcher, with its acrobatic fly, hunting flying insetcs. We can watch too the Wren ,tiny bird , very active and bellicose, with its astonishing sing for its very small size. We can watch in the ever green oak grove another diminutive bird like the Goldcrest. A very easy watch bird . He´s moving the whole time over our heads, from branch to branch, without any worry of what happens under him.We can watch the Rufous Nightingale in the estival time too.
However, to see the highlight on this route, gaze skywards where two impressive birds reign: The Booted Eagle and the Black Vulture.
The eagle is a solitary bird, planning at great heights(a telescope is recommended) and hanging skilfully in the wind. It lives in conifer woods where it hunts.
The vulture is the other majestic sky-bound inhabitant and its flight comprises effortless elevations and gliding with its wings slightly raised, mixed with slow but powerful flaps of the wings.
We can watch too: Red legged partridge, Wood Pigeon, Blackbird, Greenfinch, Great Tit, Raven and Woodchat Shrike.
14:30 pm - Lunch in the little cabin near the lake. After we´ll return back to the LLuch´s monastery, where we´ll visit a Black Vulture´s preservation room
17:30 pm.- We´ll take our luggages and drive to a village in the south of Mallorca, called Ses Salines where we ´ll remain the next two days.
